NOW AVAILABLE · PERMANENT PANEL INSTALLATION
Know what your fire panel has been reporting.
Loop Guardian brings captured fire-panel information into the EM8 platform, giving maintenance teams more context when investigating events and planning site visits.
Installed permanently inside a compatible fire alarm panel, Loop Guardian reads the panel’s event output and sends reported information to Engineer M8. From the original event to the device and zone details supplied by the panel, your team can work from a clearer record.
More detail for the people maintaining the system
Panel event history. Review reported fire alarms, open and short circuits, new or missing devices, resets and other panel events. The information available depends on the panel and its output configuration.
Device and point context. Capture zone, node, loop and address information, with descriptions and values where supplied. When the panel outputs status lists, point records can include device type, enabled state and additional status text.
Change history. Review recorded changes in point values, enabled state and reported status to support investigation. Point information reflects the panel’s latest received output.
Offline capture and recovery. Captured records are queued locally when the connection is unavailable and uploads resume after recovery. Queue capacity, power and hardware availability apply.
One connected panel. Visibility of the network it reports.
On supported networked systems, the connected panel can provide records for other panel nodes. Loop Guardian associates those records with the relevant node, helping your team understand which panel reported the event. Coverage depends on the network and configured output.
Built around your maintenance workflow
1. Check the installation. Tell us the panel manufacturer, model, firmware, interface and network arrangement. We confirm the appropriate installation and connection requirements.
2. Install and commission. The permanent unit is fitted inside the compatible panel and connected to its supported output. Commissioning checks establish that the expected records are reaching the platform.
3. Review the information. Use captured events, point information and change history to investigate reports and prepare the next site visit.
Questions about Loop Guardian
Which panels are supported?
Compatibility is checked for the specific panel, firmware and interface. Send us your panel details and we will confirm suitability before installation.
Does it continuously poll every detector?
Loop Guardian reads the information the panel outputs. Event records and status-list records have different reporting patterns; the available detail depends on that output.
Can it remotely reset or silence a panel?
Loop Guardian receives panel information. It does not send reset, silence or evacuation commands to the fire alarm.
What happens during a connection outage?
Captured messages are retained locally for later delivery, subject to storage capacity and the hub remaining powered and connected to the panel. Remote information updates when delivery resumes.
Is this the portable model?
This page covers the permanent panel-installed Loop Guardian, launched on 5 November 2026.
