New · Cannon Guardian

Automatic fire cannons,
untested, unwatched
— never again.

Cannon Guardian brings your Unifire water cannons and their Mobotix thermal detection into the EM8 Portal — live supply, zone logic, camera health and on-demand discharge tests on one screen, with critical alerts the moment a zone trips.

// How it works

From the first thermal ping to water on the pile — every step, timed.

A fire-suppression cannon spends almost all of its life doing nothing. Cannon Guardian sits on the same network as your Unifire system and its Mobotix cameras, reads every state change over Spark and Modbus, and proves the chain works — long before you ever need it to.

01

Thermal cameras raise the zone

Mobotix thermal cameras over each cannon's coverage watch for a heat signature above the set threshold. When one trips, Cannon Guardian sees the zone go active in the same instant the cannon does.

02

The cannon aims and discharges

The Unifire system rotates, elevates and opens the valve on the alarmed zone. Cannon Guardian reads the received command, the motor moving, the supply holding up and the valve output — not a guess, the cannon's own reported state.

03

The Portal proves it and alerts

Camera raised → cannon received → cannon moved → valve open, timed end to end and logged. The moment a zone fires, a critical alert goes to your team — push, email and SMS, straight past Do Not Disturb.

// Why it matters

You find out an unmonitored cannon has failed at the worst possible moment.

Automatic water cannons protect the highest-risk sites there are — waste, recycling, timber, biomass — and then sit idle for months at a time. A dropped supply, a drifted camera threshold, a cannon that boots into the wrong mode: none of it shows until a fire is already burning.

Cannon Guardian turns that silence into a live, timestamped record — the difference between hoping the system works and knowing it does.

// Where it earns its keep

Built for the sites where a cannon is the last line of defence.

Cannon Guardian is sold as a subscription module under the EM8 Portal, priced per monitored cannon. Wherever an automatic suppression cannon protects stored material, Cannon Guardian gives you proof it will do its job.

Waste & recycling

Heat that builds without warning.

Mixed waste, RDF, shredder feeds and scrap piles self-heat and reignite. Cannon Guardian watches the thermal cameras and the cannons together, and flags the second a zone goes hot — or a camera stops looking.

  • Per-zone thermal thresholds from the portal
  • Discharge test proves aim & flow
  • Snapshot of the alarm event on record
Timber, biomass & pellet

Dust, stockpiles and long quiet spells.

Sawmills, wood-chip and pellet stores run cannons that may not fire for months. Cannon Guardian keeps the supply voltage, camera health and zone logic under constant watch so a dormant system is still a working one.

  • Continuous supply & link monitoring
  • Thermal app-clock watchdog
  • Alerts the instant a cannon drops offline
Warehousing & logistics

High-value stock, high-bay racking.

Large-footprint storage protected by roof or gantry cannons needs to know its suppression is armed and aimed. Cannon Guardian reports mode, control state and cannon response across every unit on the site.

  • Multi-cannon, multi-site site list
  • Mode & control-state read-back
  • Monthly per-site PDF for the file
Industrial & manufacturing

Process heat next to what burns.

Foundries, plants and yards where hot work sits close to combustible stock. Cannon Guardian ties the camera, the cannon and — where fitted — the pump into one timeline, so a real activation is captured, not reconstructed.

  • Camera → cannon → valve → pump timeline
  • Fault decoding down to the card bus
  • Fully-managed tier available
// The platform

Rides on EM8 Connect — the same edge unit as the rest of the Guardian family.

No new hardware in the cannon panel. Cannon Guardian runs on the EM8 Connect edge unit already on the site network, talking to the Unifire Ammolite over its Spark WebSocket and to the Mobotix cameras over Modbus and HTTP — one box, one support contract, one login.

Because it shares the EM8 Portal with Surveillance Guardian, Tracking Guardian and Pump Guardian, your engineers get one training day and your customers get one screen for the whole site.
