Is it free to become an approved installer? +
Yes — completely free. There is no application fee, no training fee, and no ongoing subscription charge. The only requirement is completing the training and meeting the installer standards.
How long does the training take? +
The installer training is online and self-paced. Most engineers complete it in a single session of 2–4 hours depending on familiarity with the products. You can pause and resume at any point.
What products does the approval cover? +
Your approval covers the full Engineer M8 product range — including all Guardian products (Surveillance, ANPR, Tracking, Pump, Barrier), FireLog365, FireDoor365, and the EM8HQ app. Additional product modules may have separate training supplements.
Can my whole team get approved? +
Yes. Each engineer who completes the training receives their own individual Approved Installer certificate and ID. There is no limit on how many engineers from one company can apply.
Does approval expire? +
Approval is valid subject to ongoing compliance with Engineer M8 installer standards. When significant product updates are released, a short refresher module may be required to maintain active status.
What discounts do approved installers receive? +
